Cottage Grove Man Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Missing Daughter and Her Mother
By Leah Rosin
A Cottage Grove father has been looking for his missing 4-year-old daughter and her mother for almost a month. On January 27, upon returning from a trip to Washington to visit family, Steven Colbert and his daughter Fela Khepri Colbert met her mother, Deanna Denise Lane at the Eugene Public Library. When Deanna left with Fela, she didn’t go home. Where she went is unknown.
After talking to Lane’s landlord and neighbors, Colbert learned that Deanna had vacated her residence on January 22, taking only a suitcase, and leaving everything else behind. Efforts to reach Lane by the Eugene Police Department have been unsuccessful and Colbert has been traveling to various cities to put up posters and talk with law enforcement agencies.
A local trucking company, CGR Freight, has put large posters on their trailers featuring photos of Fela and Lane along with phone numbers, spreading the word to motorists along the I-5 and I-84 corridors.
When last seen, Lane was driving a late 90’s four door maroon red Toyota Camry with Oregon plates.
Anyone with information on the location of Fela and Deanna should contact the Eugene Police Department at 541-682-5111, and reference incident #12189.
Colbert has set up a Facebook page that shares many photos and videos of Fela and Deanna.
