The Eugene Police Department (EPD) responded to a 9-1-1 call at about 7:40 p.m. Friday evening for a robbery in progress at Little Caesar’s Pizza at 800 Seneca Rd. The alleged robber reportedly presented a note to the employee demanding cash and saying he had a weapon. The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed sum of cash, and the robber fled the location on foot.

An employee chased the suspect, who boarded a Lane Transit District bus. Police received an updated description of the suspect and converged on the bus within five minutes of the call. Police detained and arrested the suspect, Cameron Lars Mikkelsen, 23, on a charge of second-degree robbery. Mikkelsen is currently being lodged at the Lane County Jail.

EPD reminds citizens that while it recognizes the employee’s assistance in capturing the suspect, it does not encourage citizens to pursue potentially violent subjects because they can be unpredictable and dangerous.
